Hello everyone , My name is Ritambhara Sahni and i run belly dance institute Mumbai by Ritambhara Sahni - A Belly Dance Class in Mumbai since 2005. I am a complete fun loving person and many dance forms and belly dance has empowered me in ways in which i would i have never felt if i would not have danced in my life. I feel really proud when i see my students belly dance so beautifully and i feel a victory each time when my student comes and tells me about her realization on how belly dance has empowered her. As i teach the higher levels at my belly dance institute Mumbai i see how belly dance has changed the relationships of my students with not only themselves but their bodies as well. These are ' Ritambhara Sahni's happiest moments' as a belly dance teacher. My belly dance class in Mumbai is place to not only to come and belly dance but a place to feel empowered and have fun at the same time. The feeling of empowerment has to be realized by oneself through belly dance and that is the only and best way.

So, On Septemper 22nd - around that time i saw the movie Pink and i just had to write my review on it.  I was procrastinating but on 24th September a student of mine posted her review on Pink movie on her Facebook wall. Well, from the 1st day i met her, she herself had the energy to contagiously empower you and is one of the most intelligent , beautiful and genuine people that i have met. When i read her review , i was so amazed. she put down everything out there that i thought and wanted to say  in such a great way that i just dint want to write my review anymore.

I waited for my class to happen on Friday evening at my Colaba center to take her permission if i could post her review and i was so happy when she agreed. Learnt from her that we have similar lives in certain aspects of our lives. I am so proud and happy to meet so many wonderful, deep and intelligent girls like her and get inspired by them and inspire them with belly dance.
 Girls and Ladies - you have to read the way in which she has written it - not only is she strong as a person but her review itself empowers you....

Forced to be liberal???
I saw the movie PINK last week. Oh boy, it sure was an experience. A movie which questions the archaic and stereotypical mindset of the society. I rushed to see the movie the very next day of its release- fearing that it would be out of theatres if am lazy…This wasn’t a typical masala movie to pull in the crowd you see.
Was happy when the movie picked up collection through word of mouth publicity, social media and brilliant reviews.
The presence of Amitabh Bachchan sure helped the movie’s visibility.
But if you notice – the names of three female protagonist appear first followed by Amitabh Bachchan.
Also whenever a movie revolves around a particular incident – it is shown right at the beginning or some show flashes of it intermittently. Here the incident is shown last – when the end credit rolls.

As the message of the movie takes precedence over the incident itself or rather it isn’t restricted to one particular event.
Showing at the beginning could have clouded the audience judgement- here one views with an absolute clean slate…
A masterstroke which could have been conceived only by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury and Shoojit Sircar.
I loved when the dialogues of the movie have been trolled and shared and there have been discussions around it.
But everyone seem to have missed one dialogue which struck me the most.

There is a scene when the character Falak is narrating this incident to her ex-boyfriend and he says that he could have expected this to happen to Minal and not Falak…she questions- what he meant by that..He says…I CAN EITHER BE TRUTHFUL OR LIBERAL.
Oh boy…that hit hard!!! Why? Did it somewhere crack open the society’s fake liberal veil???
Since the movie has kinda achieved a cult status…through the week I heard people asking others- ‘ Did you watch the movie PINK??’ and if the response would have been a NO from a guy...the reaction from the other side would be ‘Oh you seem to be conservative- not your kind of movie, U seem to be the regressive kind, a friend went on to say,,,ohh aren’t they all male chauvinist anyways.

I need to STOP here and repeat…This movie reflects the double standards of the SOCIETY and that includes BOTH- MEN AND WOMEN.
So lets not use this movie for the sake of men bashing…
Character assassination basis the length of the skirt , timings and social circle have been done since time immemorial by the so called purist women folk as well.
What is sad is that majority claim to be liberal to ‘fit in’, to avoid a social backlash.
But the fact remains that each maintain a segregated journal for the society and family.
A woman who speaks her mind, is opinionated and is expressive in her actions is cool to hangout with in a pub but one cannot imagine one’s sister in that mould just like the character Rajveer in the movie.
The qualities in a women seeked to ‘ hook up’ and date/marry are differentiated.
This ‘ pretendence’ of being a liberal hurts the most as it leads to a perennially hushed confused state of being.
That’s lethal .
This would just create a society of sad caricatures and not people of true character.
Liberal is when you embrace it in its true spirit- Not for the fear of 'being an outcast, ‘to fit in’ or appear to be an evolved being.
Long journey for sure but lets BEGIN…

The love in the love story in Rock star movie is exactly how I ever wanted my love relationship to be - 'Ritambhara Sahni'

This movie is one of my best movies. It’s the best love story ever and it’s exactly how I have dreamed of and wanted my love story to be and remain forever and ever.

The start of the movie is really interesting. Everything about it seems very realistic.

Naive Janardhan Jakhar (Ranbir Kapoor) is in his own sweet world and loves to sing and he aspires to be a rock star in college. He is advised that in order to make it big as a rock star he needs to experience pain which comes through heartache.

He meets Heer [beautiful Nargis Fakhri ] in college and also realizes that to experience heartache he needs to 1^st fall in love which brings him go towards Heer
I love the way they start talking and how she brings out her shameless side in just the 2^nd time they talk. She expresses how badly she wants to watch a soft porn movie and that makes Janardhan so comfortable and happy.  The comfort zone in being everything that you want to be makes them the best of friends and

they are so free with each other and they go ahead and do all possible crazy things and I  loved the fact that Janardhan was always protective about her and respected her completely and always. I admire and respect men who can protect and respect women.

They really do not realize that they have started to like each

other but just want to be together and have crazy fun. I think falling in love with your best friend who you can be shameless with and also 'be yourself' at the same time is just the most awesome thing that can happen to anyone according to me.

Sad they dint get married...eventually she gets married to an NRI....and he goes and chases his dreams to sing and become a Rock Star.He gets thrown out of his house. He actually has nothing and he simply sings anywhere and everywhere and grows in his career until he makes a name. He shot to fame and did make it to the top.  His struggle was so real. I loved the name JORDAN. It so suited him with that look and was so apt from Janardhan. This naïve sweet boy was now all bold, confident and so attractive. - ‘so my kind of a guy – naïve inside and yet so bold and daring’

So as he rose to fame, he also developed an attitude. He fought with the event guy and decided not to perform but as soon as he knew that the show is in PRAGUE – where his friend Heer is…he dissolved his ego. He was simply crazy to go meet her. He dint care so much about the event, he just wanted to meet Heer. I find this so

amazing. He missed Heer all the while he struggled but dint really know he missed her and as soon as he realized he could meet her with his performance opportunity in Prague, he chased the opportunity. This is so realistic about the movie and such a

great way to realistically realize your strong connection for someone. And so he was in Prague and of course he found her.

When he meets her, he is back to Janardhan from Jordan. It does not affect him that she is married,

that it’s been so long. How they meet and make a list of things they want to do to relive was so amazing. Then, on a bike ride they let themselves go. Jordan just knows she is his and she does not feel that way about anyone else but she can’t let go completely coz of her situation. Somehow their love was so strong

When they reunite Heer is always reluctant because it

reminds her she is a married woman again and again.

Their connection and passion grows stronger when they bond as friends again only to realize that do really feel very strongly for each other. Janardhan just knows that Heer is meant to be his and is his. He does everything to get her to be with him all the time. They do get close as lovers. After his show Heer tells him that they should not meet now as she is married. A drama happens outside her house and her husband and in-laws get to know.

She comes back home and she is dying with her illness.

Heer’s younger sister meets Jordan in his show and tells him Heer is back and is sick. He leaves everything to meet her and calls here. She had no strength but when she realizes he is outside the house to meet her, the power of love

makes her get up and go to him. He gives her the confidence that she won’t die and they start to meet again. This time as official lovers

Fame can be good but fame is dangerous, Heer is dying and he could not leave his show. He did run to be

with her but was beaten up and arrested. He could not be with her in her last few breaths.

The way Janardhan gave her the confidence that she is going to be ok…gave me confidence

that she really would as I believe the power of love can create miracles and Ranbir performed that so well. But it really broke my heart when he saw during his performance making him realize she is no more. I really cried and cried in the end. The last line of the movie is still unforgettable, ‘Beyond the right doing, wrong doing, there is a world, and we will meet there’. Reading this made me cry all the more. Hate to cry in movies but I do cry in most movies.

IF YOU MUST KNOW--- Shah Rukh was not there in Rock star but is an expert in making me cry in his movies which are also my favorite movies and I love him for that and everything else.

The strong connection, the beautiful friendship, the magical passion had come to an end with the death of Heer. The loss of a loved one is extremely painful and losing such true love is extremely heart-breaking.

This is truly my favorite love story and Janardhan is my favorite lover. A lover should be like that according to me.

So many people get married for the sake of getting married. Marriage is not important to me unless I don’t feel the connection right. We all establish some strong connections in our lives but let them go for some practical reason thinking we will eventually marry the right guy and find something way better. I feel this is where a lot of us go wrong because there is no right person or perfect person. It’s the right connection, whoever the person could be. The death of this beautiful magical connection did break my heart even though it is a movie.

However this is my favorite love story as its really in this movie that I saw 2 friends be what they want to be, be partners in crime, the girl is free to express her desire to drink alcohol and watch soft porn movies and he gets so comfortable with that and they grow a beautiful friendship . Love the way he respects and protects her always until the end in their journey when they realize their strong passion till he was there with her until her last day of life.

Being a fairy tale girl, i am not a fan of cricket

But my father was a great fan of cricket. So I would end up watching cricket coz of him..

Azharuddin was a great cricketer according to me. I once saw him take a wicket by catching the ball from really far n den hitting it on the wicket from the same place from where he caught it before the batsman could reach the boundary.  And then the commentator said – ‘that’s his speciality n he is known 4 that’. Wow that was so unique and I was really impressed. I did become his fan for sure even not being a fan of cricket.

The ban on him not playing cricket did hurt me as I really admired him. I always have admired my cricket team and all its players but am still not a fan of cricket. I had started to like him so much for the way he plays that it did affect me and somehow from within I always felt he was innocent and this was a conspiracy.

Today watching this movie makes me feel really happy. I think this movie is Azharuddin’s victory. The ban being lifted should be his 100^th test match victory for sure but this movie was amazing. I’m glad this movie was made coz it really is what Azhar was and is. [ I believe that]

Like all other girls, I like Emraan Hashmi too and he suited the role like crazy.  Being a part of the film Industry from the past makes me connect with my friends from there always and also what I know of Emraan Hashmi in real life that above anything he is a gentleman and he really respects women and so does Azharudin. Emraan Hashmi was really perfect for this role.

Im a fan of Azharudin and this movie and Emraan Hashmi. It’s a must watch if you love cricket.

I wrote this to write my review on the movie but I ended up writing it this way. However the movie was well made and keeps you glued for sure. The three beautiful actresses –Lara Dutta, Nargis Fakhri and Prachi Desai

looked lovely and did complete justice to their roles and so did each and every character. Nanaji –Kulbhushan Kharbanda is always powerful in his acting and was so apt for that role too. The voice behind Azhar’s positive actions in his life.

Nice to learn so much about this truly inspiring cricketer from his movie. Glad this movie was made.

Sangeeta Bijlani played by Nargis Fakhri. Love both these actresses. They are so beautiful. Oye Oye - was a song i would dance to all the time and Sangeeta was so so beautiful. Nargis Fakhri performing the same and hearing this song again was just so amazing. Rockstar is another movie i am in love with and loved Nargis right from there.
